I’m going to assume you have played or at least heard of games where the character the player controls has various attributes (health, experience, power, etc) that get used up and replenished throughout the game.
It is a popular way of coding a game because everyone can relate to it. We all get up inthe morning with out allotment of energy points which we use throughout the day. Then we rest for awhile to recharge. The more we rest the more our energy refills.
In real life I think tolerance works a little bit like that. I wake up in the morning with my allotment of tolerance points and as the day progresses annoyances happen and I don’t worry about them because I still have some tolerance points that counter them.
The problem for is that after a full rest period, I only accumulate like 2 points and I’ve usually used them up before I get out of the driveway in the morning. The rest of the day is spent generally being annoyed and frustrated with various people, places and things.
Game designers are aware of this and program little pick me ups that the player can find along the way to refill their allotment of attribute points. If only real life were so easy…
How many tolerance points do you start with in the AM?
Posted from my iPhone at lunch in my car.
Cheers!!

Wait…..so what do you use the tolerance points for in the morning? Doodle bug? Me?
